Goblins and Trolls

Here’s (another) one I made earlier.

When goblins denigrate your work,

and trolls belittle every line,

don’t even try to understand the labyrinth of their twisted minds.

Trolls delight in others’ pain – seek to destroy, not to create,

and leave behind them worms of doubt

that stir your fears and feed on hate.

Picture Henson’s Labyrinth creatures – stunted, unloved, cowardly.

Like Sarah, spurn the goblin bullies...

You have no power over me.

Faithful followers will have read this one before, but it seemed to follow naturally from my previous post.

  1. This is written so beautifully, Cathy.
I remember my first troll on Facebook. It was a most memorable experience… very special indeed.
It was the first time I had ever been on Facebook and he really took me aback – as well as afront! His words unnerved and angered me. Because I didn’t know any better at the time, I argued with him, not realizing I would never win this battle.
Another member of the group left me a comment saying, “Don’t waste your time on him. He’s a troll and doesn’t deserve your time.”
Upon seeing her comment I wondered, What”s a troll? I thought trolls were those small, nasty creatures. along with Gnomes, which pestered humans, Gnomes being friendlier.
Well, come to find out, they are small and nasty creatures, just of the human sort.
