At the end of last year, I was greatly cheered by winning the Eyrie Press short story competition.
Eyrie Press is a local publisher whose annual short story competition is limited to writers around our counties of East Anglia. I have been shortlisted in the past, which has always, in itself, been a boost to my confidence in the uninspiring dark days of winter. This is my first win, with a story originally writtten to a writing group monthly “homework” prompt.
Tommy was published this month in The Fens, a local magazine.

How wonderful. I send you virtual flowers! As for unexpected cheer, it comes from the puppy jumping on the picnic table so she can spy on us through the living room window.

How were you able to so fully capture the reality of PTSD? Very convincing.

A genuine sufferer might not think so… but thank you for the flowers 🙂
