For those with time to look online today…

Christmas is a family time, but not this year. Lights may twinkle, bells may chime but no-one’s here. No clinking glasses, laughing voices carolling in rhyme. No Christmas cheer. It’s not enough to celebrate a birth; the festive season sells. But this year, inns have little cause for mirth. Ring out, you solstice bells through empty streets. This Christmas, Peace on Earth means something else.

Happy Christmas, Cathy.

Posting isn’t the same as writing – killing time until ‘himself’ gets up – he’s still recuperating. Have a good one with all you meet today.

Happy Holidays to you. It was a quiet one here, but I am grateful our family is all healthy and happy even though we cannot be together.

never thought of it this way, but you are right, this will certainly be one of the most peaceful Christmas seasons ever..

I suppose it depends how you look at it. Households who manage a harmonious front for others might find tensions mounting when left to their own devices for Christmas. Happens at the best of times.
